Our first meeting took place in Rostock on 22-24 September 2023 see Programme here. We had a series of workshops in Schwerin before heading to Rostock for a day of lectures. On Sunday we went out to see the the open air museum in Groß Raden and tested an Artec ray Scanner courtesy of https://www.klib3dscanner.de to scan the replica of a slavic boat.

Dear all networkers in digital nautical archaeology! Our group now has changed its name from FRAUG to DN²A. FRAUG has over many years been an important network for archaeologists working with digital recording of ship timbers, and reconstruction of archaeological vessels. As the FARO-arm now has got competition from other more versatile and user-friendly tools, it is time to change the group name.

Hopefully there will soon be an event where we can meet and discuss our common challenges and methods! Maybe already by Autumn 2023? We will keep you posted.
