Vikingeskibsmuseet and Lund University are pleased to invite you to the next meeting of our network.

The meeting will take part lecture- part workshop form, catering for any type of presentation or demonstration that you may wish to contribute!

As usual, all contributions presenting recent and ongoing work in the field of digital maritime archaeology are welcomed, but we wish to champion contributions addressing the meeting’s official theme: the recurring but rarely resolved question of

Long term data curation and dissemination

Additionally we aim to invite some key commercial partners – details to follow.

Future DN2A meeting/workshop topics

What would you like to address at future DNNA meetings? More lectures? More practical exercises? Specific methods and technologies? I invite you to place your vote on any and all of the topics on this list or – importantly – add your own ideas.

The list has been compiled following discussions at past gatherings and is intended as a live document providing a roadmap for the network and assisting members contemplating hosting future DN2A meetings or worhshop.

DN2A is born

Dear all networkers in digital nautical archaeology! Our group now has changed its name from FRAUG to DN²A. FRAUG has over many years been an important network for archaeologists working with digital recording of ship timbers, and reconstruction of archaeological vessels. As the FARO-arm now has got competition from other more versatile and user-friendly tools, it is time to change the group name.

Hopefully there will soon be an event where we can meet and discuss our common challenges and methods! Maybe already by Autumn 2023? We will keep you posted.
